Information & Support Services for Parents
Located in the heart of the Lower Sheriff Street community, the After Schools Education & Support Programme CLG (ASESP) provides prevention and education, and support, to a range of groups that includes early years, children in primary school and post-primary school. We also provide support and information for parents and guardians that we identified as needing assistance and support. We are open five days per week for 50 weeks per annum from 8.30am to 6.30pm.
We have six groups operating daily where the service provides for 150 children aged between 6 months and 14yrs. In addition to providing education support, we focus on the children developing healthy eating habits through the provisions of a variety of nutritious snacks.
We support parents/ guardians while they return to education and employment, through the provision of a school collection service with the ASESP buses collecting from 13 schools in the North East Inner City. This has helped many families in the North East Inner City area, where the pressures of finding affordable, high quality, community based childcare can be very challenging.
Are staff are highly trained and have achieved Siolta and Aistear Certification. Staff also have a minimum of QQI Level 6 up to level 8 in Early Years Education.
